Find That Sweet Spot
So every other Sunday I sing on the worship team at church. I love it so much, I love music and singing. I've been told that I have a soft sweet voice of innocence lol. I'm flattered and humbled by the comments I've gotten. Sometimes when I'm up on stage I'm so nervous. The whole team has encouraged me so much. I think I have finally found my confidence. I had one man ask me today if I was singing and I said yes, he said awesome! Thank you Lord for giving me this voice and the ability to use it!
A few weeks ago, I was given a couple solo's in some songs. I was super nervous and shaking. God gave me the visual of Jesus standing next to me singing right along. Ever since then my nerves have quieted down. There's nothing more humbling than seeing Jesus praising God with you. It's quite incredible actually. Today when I was up there, I just let go. I love picturing myself at the throne of God just praising and worshipping Him. It calms me and gives me so much peace. When you do this with the congregation, you can bet that God is there and you are enveloped in His presence. There's so much joy and peace, you can't help but cry.
I always wanted to sing professionally but never really thought I was good enough and I don't think I could make it out there in the shark tank of stardom. I couldn't cut it. That's ok with me because I'm more than happy singing at home or at church or when I take walks. I can sing just about anywhere and get that same effect. You know why? Because when I'm singing, I'm in tune to God. He gave me that. He gave me that connection to Him. Yes I feel connected when I pray most of the time, but I feel connected ALL of the time when I sing to Him.
I was told before by a dear friend that satan's job in heaven was in the worship department. Why do you think he hates singing, worshipping, and praising so much? It's crazy but makes total sense. When we sing and worship God, satan flees. He can't stand to hear it. I love that I can one up him on that.
I love that God is so creative. How intricate music is, it's astounding! Our senses and ears to hear and our brains creating beats and tones and melodies, it's all amazing. Thank you God for creating something so beautiful that we can really enjoy. Thank you for creating that sweet spot for me. When I sing to God, I feel like I'm completely myself. I would say I'm pretty creative in the writing and music department, and I'm so thankful for that. Thank you Lord for giving me a gift I enjoy so much, and that I can share it at church to bless others. Saying that I enjoy it, doesn't do it justice at all. I'm in when I'm enveloped in music. I can't really put it into words I guess. God knows though. I love at times like today when it feels we are sharing the same heartbeat. Being that close to God is beyond amazing. I can't imagine how much better heaven will be! There's always music going on up there.
To end this day, I just want to tell my readers: find that sweet spot. Find that gift that God has given you that you feel like home. That gift that draws you closer to Him more and more everyday. God has gifted everyone with something. When you've had a bad day, turn to it and get close to God. There's nothing better than being in that sweet spot. If you're having trouble finding it, ask God to reveal it. I promise you His answer won't be no. He wants to be close to you all the time, every second of the day. He'll help you find it. Use it, grow in it, bless others with it. It's not meant just for us, God wants us to share it with others. I'll be praying for you all as well. Love you all!
